Ambassador skills and qualifications:

​

  • Diplomacy – the ambassador’s role is primarily diplomatic in nature, so the ability to successfully manage community relations and support positive interactions between BIC@ Location groups and the surrounding community is essential.

  • Negotiation skills – because they frequently lead negotiations on a variety of topics, ambassadors need to be pragmatic and skilled negotiators with a solid understanding of their nation’s positions and interests

  • Relationship building – ambassadors build relationships with their BIC group and the surrounding community, ability to develop and maintain positive relations is a major benefit in this position.

  • Leadership skills– ambassadors oversee and direct their respective communities, assign roles and manage meetings, etc.

  • Conflict resolution – the ability to resolve conflict and negotiate a common ground.

  • Verbal and written communication for understanding project requirements and explaining these needs to employees and third-party providers.

  • Attention to detail to ensure all specifications are met.

  • Problem-solving abilities to correct any challenges or inefficiencies for the best results.

  • Decisiveness and good judgment to address pressing project matters when time is limited.

  • Organization and time management to manage multiple tasks, sometimes for multiple projects, at once.

  • Leadership and motivation to guide team members in making consistent progress.

  • Goal-setting to set realistic deadlines and strategize daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly progress.
